Pinkalicious!
Today is a bittersweet day. Avery's big girl bed has arrived and is all set up. She raced in from school today to see the transformation and was ecstatic! Every night this past week when we lay her down in her crib she would say, "why do you have to put me in this little baby crib?" Well let's see if she can handle the big girl bed. I am hoping for then best and expecting the worst. You see her favorite play places are beds and couches. The girl loves to make forts with pillows and blankets. Then, she has to make sure all of her animals are cozy. She has quite the imagination!
For all of you pink lovers Avery now has the pinkest room only to get more pink when the rest of her bedding arrives (it is on back order). Lyn-Ann I am sure this everything pink phase will pass, but it is so adorable. The kicker... it is a Barbie theme! Totally girly and sweet. I never imagined my tough cookie would pick this out but I love it.
I just laid her down for her nap and will keep you posted on how this new transition progresses. We have Barbie PJ's that match her sheets and a Barbie doll to break out tonight to help motivate her to stay in her bed. These two little gifts are from Grammy Tina and Grampa Bruce. Thanks for helping us get her all geared up to make the change. We are so excited and a tiney bit sad to see out little girl growing up.
Next stop, getting rid of the binkie! That might be a while :)

Chuggin along
We had a fabulous weekend! A Friday night hair party where Avery was able to play with her bestie and Mom and Dad got to enjoy some adult time. Dylan...he was so worn out he slept 10 hours!
Saturday Avery had a great time sleeping over at Ammy and Bamps house. Trevor and I ordered her big girl bed in our free time and enjoyed a night with our growing boy. It was special to have some alone time with him. We were so beat by the end of the night we couldn't even make it through our Net Flix James Bond movie.
This week it is back to a routine and not over packing our schedule. I feel better already!
The pictures below are kind of cute and show Dylan and how he is really growing. We are guessing he is just over 14lbs!
Poor Dylan...Avery is gone for the evening and he still has to share his Daddy with the dog! Riley wouldn't leave them alone!

We made it just in time!
"Hurry, hurry we are gonna to be late", and "Few, I'm here!"
-Avery Reese Atkinson
Those three lines are three of her favorites lately. I think it is a direct reflection of me! With two kids and a very busy schedule I feel like we are always in a rush. It doesn't matter if I plan to leave thirty minutes early we are always one minute late. I am now an Atkinson, and in case you didn't know they are never late. I have to say it is bothering me. But,potty training a two year old, nursing a 3 month old, and everything else in between something always seems to pop up as we are on our way out the door. Clearly Avery is feeling it too and we are always in a huge hurry. Life just seems to be going so fast!
Also, I am really trying to work on my patience. I am a pretty patient person but with all of this "busyness" I really need to remember that I have to enjoy every second of these two adorable little ones. They are way too cute and sweet!
Enough self reflection for now. A few updates...
Dylan is talking more and more everyday. Trevor is a little worried that he might talk more than Avery. He really didn't think that would be possible. He is all smiles and sleeping in his crib. He is outgrowing his clothes so I am washing up the 3 to 6 months! He is just the sweetest little thing!
Avery is taking tumbling class and LOVES it! I like to think she is a natural. (wink, wink) She loves school and her Daddy. She says the funniest things and uses her manners really well. She has a huge imagination and loves to play with her friend Handley. This week they got into all sorts of trouble together. Playing in a big pile of mud is one example. She is so vocal and her vocabulary grows everyday. Her words surprise me daily. She is a doll, even when she tries my patience.

A Sad Day and a Big Boy!
Today we were very disappointed to see Dallas lose. We enjoyed the extended football season and cheering for the Cowboys every week. As you can see Dylan was just as disappointed as his Daddy.
On a high note, I was able to get a date with my boys Saturday night. We went to the new Taco Mac to watch some football and catch up with some friends. It was a great time.
Dylan turned 12 weeks Thursday. It is hard to believe he is almost three months old! He is a sweetie for sure!

Cheerin Big "D" on to Victory!
Saturday afternoon we made all sorts of appetizers and did lots of munching before the Cowboy game. Avery had more fun making the little smokies more than she did eating them.
After we got Avery down for the night, Trevor and his boy enjoyed watching the big game! We had lots of fun watching the Cowboys win!
Sunday morning snuck up on us and it was off to Truss' baptism. Getting four people ready and out the door is tough, but we made it and got to see Truss get baptized. Then, we had lunch over at the Sanders. It was a great day for sure! We did have to miss Cooper Mayer's baptism which was also today. We can't wait to see him again soon. Congrats Truss and Cooper!

Bundled Babes!
I just love getting to see the babes all bundled up! It is so chilly here and I have been layering and taking pictures. I finally was able to get Dylan into his little bunting and he sure looked cute! I also finally got Avery to smile for the camera before she went outside to play with Trevor. This cold weather sure does make everyone sleep well!
The pictures below are of Avery at her friend Chandler's second birthday party. The party was this morning and we had a great time. Just look at Avery's pancake. She was in heaven with the whipped cream, syrup, and m&m's! Right up her alley. She even ate a cupcake for desert. Do you think she will nap today? Trevor is trying really hard to tire her out. They have been running outside for about 30 minutes already!
And..some snow day art projects!

Back to Alpharetta
Once again Trevor had a little traveling to do so we headed up to see the Grandparents in Alpharetta. We had a sleepover and lots of fun! We even got to sneak in a visit with Truss and Auntie Tally! Looking forward to a fun weekend with Dad, a birthday party, and Truss' baptism.

First Official Trip to Watch a Movie
Last Monday, Ammy, Aunt Tally, Truss, Dylan, Avery, and I all went to the movies. We saw The Princess and the Frog. What a cute movie! It takes place in New Orleans and the music in the movie makes you want to dance. Dance is just what Avery did! She also ate popcorn and M&M's. We all enjoyed the show and look forward to our next trip to the theater.

An Atkinson Christmas!
It was a great gift to have Grammy Tina and Grampa Bruce with us after Christmas! We all loved having them in Atlanta for a few days. Avery got lots of undivided attention and played all day long with her Grammy and Grampa. She was the happiest little girl around. Dylan loved to cuddle with them both and I think they agree with me that he is the cutest/best baby boy! Grammy and Grampa also spoiled Trevor and I by giving us lots of Mommy and Daddy alone time. We were able to get to the movies and spend time with friends to ring in the 2010. Thank you both for another fabulous visit! We can't wait to come to your house!
