Celebrating F-O-U-R with Friends

I can hardly believe nearly four years have gone by since our baby girl came into our lives. She has brought us so much joy and changed our lives forever!

Last weekend we had a small friend birthday party for Avery at a local paint studio. This was the perfect place for Avery since art projects are her favorite past time. The kids each painted there own princess canvas. We ate Avery's favorite chicken nuggets for lunch. After singing Happy Birthday, we had cupcakes, dirt cake, and Christy's most adorable paint cookies (thank you!). A good time was had by all!

Thanks to all that helped us celebrate! Carrie Beth thank you for taking so many great pictures! Now I have to figure out how we can plan a little family surprise party for my little girl. She is wanting a surprise party very badly! hmmmmm....

Closing Ceremonies

This year Avery was so very fortunate to have the BEST teachers teach her during the three days she was at school each week. She loved going to school everyday and I loved taking her there because I knew she was in such good hands. Ms. Debbie and Ms. Susan loved her, taught her, and guided her every chance they could. I am very grateful for the wonderful stimulating learning experience they gave her. Many thanks to Ms. Debbie and Ms. Susan, we love you!!!

During our closing ceremonies Avery was presented a diploma. On a funny note the teachers made humorous predictions as to what each child would be when they are grown. For example, one was a director of activities for a cruise ship, on was a train conductor, you get the picture. Well, Avery, they predicted she would be a clothing model because whenever they get out the camera she strikes a pose. I guess that is my fault, as I am constantly following her around so I can do these silly blog posts. Either way, whatever she grows up to be, as long as she follows her heart her Daddy and I will be proud!

Then there are her fantastic classmates. Avery talks about them all, and has a blast playing with them all the time. She and Leighton are peas in a pod and are just drawn to each other. And that is fine with me because she is a doll. The girls also love Tyler! Poor guy he has too many girlfriends and was predicted to be on the Bachelor in the years to come. I can see why they love him! He is full of spunk, and tons of fun, not to mention adorable!

Her Friends

Here Tyler is asking if they want to come play trucks with him!

She has grown so so much!!!! To be exact 2 1/4 inches and 4 lbs.

Happy Unbirthday Avery!

We were able to celebrate Avery's unbirthday last Friday at her school. She loved having us there and the cupcakes we brought. Her teachers let her choose either 4 birthday kisses, 4 birthday hugs, or 4 birthday spankings from her friends, teachers, or family. Guess what she choose....birthday hugs from Daddy! I can hardly believe she will be 4 in less than 15 days!

Other weekend happenings

The end of Spring beginning of Summer is a splendidly busy time. This past weekend Avery finished her second soccer season. I am shocked at how much better the entire team is now. I really enjoyed practices and games as I am now able to cheer. It is so exciting to see them understand the game and play with their teammates.

This last game was really special because Avery had an audience. Ammy and Bampa came to cheer her on. After the game we went to lunch and stopped for ice cream. We were all happily worn out!

But after naps Uncle Kyle and Aunt Tricia came by for a visit. We had fun watching the Red Sox and catching up. Uncle Kyle also helped us get our Ipad going and we are thrilled to be able to get familiar with it!

Two other noteworthy events:

Dylan went potty on the big boy toilet twice on Friday! I know it is not time to potty train but his interest (or maybe that of the reward) and self control were amazing. Way to go big boy!

Sunday Avery had a Grampa date. Bampa took Avery fishing at the lake Sunday afternoon. Although they didn't catch any fish they still had a blast picnicking on the pier, hiking, playing with the worms, ans spying fish in the water. She is still talking about her very special Grampa time!

One more thing....This is a picture of Avery, Ammy, Bampa, and one of her best friends Leighton. Avery was so excited for them to meet she insisted they all get their picture taken together. So sweet!

Sheep Shearing!

Farmer Sue at the Art Barn invited us to a special sheep shearing ceremony. We met Ammy, Bamp, Tally, Tricia, Truss, and Scottie for an exciting morning on the barn. We were able to pet and hold tons of animals. We met two week old baby sheep and enjoyed a hay ride. Avery even took home a little bit of wool! It was a ton of fun!

The heat has arrived!

And so have the pool and water toys!

We had playgroup outside in the baby pool, slide and all. I didn't even know they were going to be wet so I didn't pack suits. Luckily, Avery was wearing hers because Trevor had promised to break out the sprinkler when he got home from work, since it was so hot.

The kids had so much fun. They had Popsicles and ran wild. Dylan had to go shanky and it was COLD! It didn't bother him a bit. In fact, I think he believes he is three just like all the big girls. I was so nervous as he was climbing, splashing, and trying to swim. He did it though and it looks like I am going to be very busy when we go to the pool. The word for the day....FUN!

My new favorite picture of Dylan. Taken by Carrie Beth in their backyard! (She actually took most of the pics on the blog for me, she is a great photographer with a great camera)

Our sprinkler! Next, we will break out the slip in slide. Can't use all the tricks at once :)

Dylan's First Class

Dylan is so unpredictable. Last week, a sweet Grandmother followed the two of us around Trader Joes for 30 minutes trying to get a smile out of Dylan. He never made eye contact, refused to talk, and never cracked a smile (despite being sung to, rubbed, etc) I continue to be shocked by his ability to ignore. For this reason, I was a bit worried about how he would act with a teacher in a class setting. We tried, the class is tumble bears a toddler gymnastics class with a few of his closest friends. He is the youngest and strove to keep up with his big kid friends.

I was nervous about how it would go, turns out I was nervous for no reason. He was awesome. The boy was so excited to get on the gym equipment and "no" was the word of the day. He didn't want me to help him with anything and insisted on doing everything himself. Except the big beam. He even walked with the teacher and followed a few simple directions. I was so proud of his first effort and am very excited about our upcoming music class!

Way to go Dylan! You are growing up so fast!
