Go away,
Little Dylan wants to play!
Earlier this week one of Dylan's best buddies brought over a bag full of goodies. Dylan now has more shoes than me and a summer wardrobe that is to die for. And that is saying a lot! We stayed in all day and had tons of fun. Dylan wore the rain boots all day except for nap time!
And it is safe to say he LOVES his new rain boots! Thanks Jake!

A lot sweet and a little bit sassy
I have to admit I am a little bit embarrassed to write this post. However, I think it is necessary to blog this humbling and a tad bit funny moment.
Over the weekend, Trevor and I decided to take the kids out to dinner at a sushi restaurant (inside the perimeter). Trevor was a bit hesitant since it is a bit fancier than the normal establishments we frequent. I was able to convince him to make the trip because a) we had a groupon b) there were fish tanks that I believed would entertain the children and c) we were going early enough there was certainly not going to be a crowd. From the go things were fantastic. The kids were fascinated by the fish tanks. They loved the edamame, and we were one of three families eating dinner at 5:30. Our service was outstanding and we even ventured out and Trevor had a drink while I sipped a glass of wine. We ordered and things were still going smoothly. Then, the waiter brought out the kids meal. Avery's eyes were bulging (the girl LOVES seafood). She was THRILLED! Then it happened... out of her mouth in a crescendo came the words, " SHUT UP, SHUT UP, This is AWESOME!" Wow we were taken back by the volume and the words spoken! Trevor and I were speechless and the waiter was a little tickled! As soon as he left, we clearly explained the words "shut up" were not polite and that we should not say them. When I asked her where she heard them she couldn't tell me. I racked my brain and could not possibly think of anyone we know that talks like that. I mean, shut up in a positive way?? I felt half bad for reprimanding her but that is just not appropriate for a three year old. In a nutshell, dinner was superb! The kids loved their food and had a great time. We would do it again in a heartbeat and just hope to have better word choices next time.
Monday night I was telling a friend about our weekend fiasco and she informed me that the Disney Channel after 6:30 has a few shows that commonly use those exact same words. I guess it is time for the parental controls! And, I will tell you that last week (I promise I am not making excuses) our dog was ill, diagnosed with colitis to be exact, and while I was cleaning up after the dog and putting the baby boy to bed I was guilty of letting my girl watch unsupervised television! I promise not to do that again!!!
And... on a side note, Dylan is calling me when he wakes up! So exciting! I just can't get him out of his crib fast enough when I hear those words, "Mama, mama!"

Playtime!
Soccer at 9 play date with Miss L all morning long. That is Avery's idea of a perfect Saturday. Although she was missing her Daddy, that had to work a weekend of inventory. I have to say Dylan enjoyed playing with the girls too! The girls are like two peas in a pod and play so well together, it really made my morning much easier!
Dylan is trying to cut 4 new teeth. He is talking a little more everyday. And remains the sweetest most loving little boy. He can make a mess like no other and can be a bit of trouble when the mood strikes him. Love this cuddler!
Avery well...I had to post this pic because those are Seven Jeans! Can you believe my girl has designer jeans. I am still shocked but for eight dollars at the consignment sale I'd do it again! Her sense of fashion is shall I say evolving?? She insists on picking out her own clothes and did you know polka dots and stripes match? She is quite the sight! I love my big girl too!

Great Grama Ruth
My Grandmother arrived today from Wisconsin. I cannot put into words how exciting it was to have her meet our children. Not only mine, but also my adorable nephew and niece! We enjoyed the evening visiting and laughing. We are looking forward to an entire week filled with many get togethers and family time!

Friday Fun!
Dylan gets a haircut with Daddy
It hit me like a ton of bricks, and normally Auntie Tricia would be called to the rescue. However, he needed a trim and he needed it now! Check out the before and after. Today my little boy turned into a big boy! He has the big boy haircut. He was so good and I am so happy and so sad! I was thrilled he would to have such a handsome boy today but wouldn't you know he stuck that lollipop in his hair on his way to pick up his big sister from school. The rest of the day he had a crunch little spike. He is all boy!
After a great picnic lunch with friends...
Mom gets a nail in her tire and we make an emergency stop at the tire store. It was like a field trip. I never would have dreamed an hour at a tire store could be so much fun!
Avery hung her beautiful artwork on the window and wanted to see the band aid they put on my tire. She was extremely talkative! Dylan wiggled his way between armrest and seat (the entire row of seats I might add). He had fun.
I told Avery we were having steak for dinner. She requested some shrimp so we had Aunt Patty's famous shrimp dip. Safe to say we are all fans!
Perfect start to the weekend!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

In the blink of an eye!
This weekend flew by and was jam packed!
Friday night Daddy finally got home and the babes were thrilled. They couldn't get enough of him!
Saturday, was Trevor's turn to be the soccer mom. He had to haul both kids to the soccer fields along with snacks and drinks. Dylan was even sweet enough to make a dirty diaper mid game just to give Trevor something else to add to his list. The good news is he did it! They even stopped for a blizzard on their way home. Way to go Dad! I was able to attend a good friends baby shower. It was a very nice morning!
Dylan was asleep on arrival and went down for his afternoon nap. While Avery and I quickly changed and headed off to Keifer's birthday party. There Avery jumped in the bounce house for what seemed to be hours. It was a great Star Wars themed party and we both had fun. We raced home to see the boys got everyone cleaned up just in time for our friend to come over and watch the babes for a few hours so that Trevor and I were able to meet up with a few friends. Safe to say I slept good after all the hustle and bustle of the day. Trevor and I actually divided and conquered which is something we don't normally do. It worked but it was different to say the least.
Sunday, we had to take advantage of the beautiful day so...we went to the zoo again! It keeps getting better and the kids have a blast!
Watch Dylan get friendly with the animals :) He finally pet them!
Cute shot of the three monkeys looking at the gorillas
Avery is into taking pictures. I had to include this one as it sums up how I felt the whole weekend...like a chicken with my head chopped off :)

They did it!
Mission accomplished!
These adorable 3 1/2 year olds had a blast during their first official sleepover! We have had sleepovers at the lake but both parents were there. We also tried once this summer but one of the little girls chickened out and ended up coming home at bedtime (that would be my little one). This time however Handley was determined to make it till the morning! And she did! She was wonderful!
We started the evening at a local pizza resturant with the Posener's, from there we brought Handley home with us. The girls ran upstairs and had a pillow fight in Avery's room. Then played chase and were begging to watch a show and have a bedtime snack because they wanted to get to sleep. Well, then after teeth, books, stories, songs, and a prayer the sleep excitement had worn off and they wanted snacks again. To be honest I wasn't sure we were going to make it. I called Handley's mom and got a little pep talk. It was just what I needed! From there it was easy! I laid down with the girls and they began to slowly get tired and eventually fall asleep!
The next morning!
Handley was very excited that we had cereal with marshmallows :) We even made some homeade blueberry muffins!
The girls were so sweet and cute! It is hard to believe they have been friends for three years and even harder to believe they are brave enought to have a sleepover! Originally tonight I was supposed to have a girls night, I had it on the calendar for months. Trevor ended up having to travel and I was glad I did in a way get my girls night!
A few funny things they said:
When we walked in the door from dinner Handley said, "Tiara is there a burglar in here?" I was shocked she knew what a burglar was and immediately tried to assure her we were safe :)
Later while the girls were playing in Avery's room I heard Avery say, "We have to play with my little brother, okay?" This also shocked me!
Before bed Handley asked if I had cereal with marshmallows for breakfast. I love it! I also gave her a jellybean (obviously her first, sorry CB) and she said, "What do I do with it Tiara?" I guess I have a sweet tooth!
I wish I could have heard the conversations that took place when they were in the room alone :) I am sure it was sweet and funny! The best part about the whole event was that the girls anticipation was enormous! They knew sleepovers are supposed to be fun but they just didn't know how to make the sleeping part fun. I guess they are to little to know the secret is really just not sleeping :) I hope they don't learn that too soon!

Bigger and brighter!
To my sister Tricia Anne... we are so excited about your new career decision! There couldn't be a more perfect time to take the risk and start your own business. You are fabulous at your job, have a great work ethic, and we know you will succeed! Congratulations! Happy trails!!! We are so excited to see what the future holds!
A huge thank you for watching the babes Saturday night so that Trevor and I could sneak out and enjoy an evening on the town. It was much needed after the sick week. We are grateful to you and that handsome hubby of yours! Gracias!

Twice the trouble
Last week was boring for Dylan since Avery was too sick to play. He did enjoy his first pudding and manage to squeeze into the baby doll stroller. It was obvious he was bored and I wasn't enough fun for him. He practiced going up and down the stairs like a big boy. This means walking up and down and yelling "no" at me every time I tried to help. He is such a copycat and wants to do everything just like his big sister. He absolutely amazes me and keeps me hopping.
This week Avery is back and they are up to all sorts of foolishness. While I was putting away diapers they were sailing across the wood floors in their new pirate ship. I am not sure that was very safe but they were laughing until I broke up the fun. Then, they locked the bathroom door, never good. When I finally busted in I found them playing in the tub with an army full of stuffed animals. I asked Avery how Dylan got in and she said she helped him. "I just gave his leg a little boost." I sat in the bathroom and watched them play. As I was giving them the this isn't safe lecture and throwing a tissue away Dylan fell right out of the tub and landed on his head. He was okay, and I am hoping they both got the message that it wasn't a play place. Those are two examples of some of the trouble they get into but most of the time it is just plain fun. Dance parties, building forts, and Dylan trying to keep up with Avery is what we do most of the day. Seeing this sibling relationship grow daily is a joy!
