Grown ups in Boston!

After three and a half years, Trevor and I were able to sneak in a trip to Boston.  It. Was. Amazing! It started on the shuttle ride to the airport.  I heard Trevor say, " Hi Jason" weird!  I was trying to figure out how I knew him or why he didn't introduce me and after looking at him I knew!  It was Jason Varitek, Captain of the Boston Red Sox and Catcher.  We rode the the terminal with him, his wife, and baby.  From there, Trevor got upgraded to first class.  He offered it to me, but how could I accept knowing he would be seated close to one of his "hero's"  Needless to say, he took care of me back in the cabin.  The stewardess were offering me free drinks, lunch, snacks, and whatever it took to make me happy. Little did they know I was enjoying my book, and the peace and quiet that comes with alone time!  

Our first night we just enjoyed the city!  We went place to place enjoying the energy, good food, and drinks.  The second night Trevor spoiled me at the Top of the Hub.  We had window side seats for the sunset.  (not east to do) It was gorgeous!  The pictures don't do it justice and we overlooked Harvard.  Dinner was delicious!

The third night we went to Fenway!  We have had plans to be there before but even a hurricane stopped us!  This trip we couldn't be stopped and it was all I imagined and more!  I loved everything about the stadium and was shocked when the 2004 World Series Team was there and made their presence known on the Duck Boats!  Awesome!  We watched the first six innings from amazing seats.  We sat next to a nice scout that taught me a lot!  Then, I introduced myself to a man that I watch every Red Sox game (their biggest fan)  He sits in the front row.  He was so kind to invite us to the club for a drink and let me enjoy the rest of the game from his seat.  Although they lost, the Red Sox game was unbelievable.  I am still in awe that Trevor and I could have this much fun in the CITY!  In the past, we have only vacationed in the sun and after this trip things could change!  Boston is my kind of town!  Thank you Trevor for planning a great get-a-way!  Thanks to our parents for helping with our two babies!  We love you! 

Fall is in full effect!

Soccer season is under way!  This is Avery's third fall and the team is improving.  There are some sweet girls on the team and they really get a long well.  Avery has also gotten the opportunity to play against some of her friends from school and the neighborhood.  That has been fun and really makes Smyrna seem like home when you can walk around and know many of the children and parents out at the park over the weekend! Skill wise, Avery is trying hard and controlling the ball well.

We also made it to the North Georgia State Fair and enjoyed the animals, rides, and food.  This is the first year the kids were fearless in petting the animals.  If we would have stayed any longer we may have come home with a pet rabbit.  The trip to the Fair has been a yearly event and this was our fifth year to enjoy the wild fun.

Atkinson Fun

Since the Atkinson's moved to Atlanta we have been busy enjoying the city!  We enjoyed the Eastlake PGA Golf Tournament and got to see one of Chipper's last ballgames.  It has been a lot of fun to enjoy these fun events with family!

Uncle Scott came to visit GA too!  Below is picture of an indoor baseball game he played with the kids! We enjoyed his visit as always!

My Sweetness

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!

Dylan has not cried the last three days of school.  That means he only cried the first two days of carpool.  I really thought (hoped and prayed) I would be able to type this fantastic new around Christmas time.  This bugger is really growing up.  He is actually excited to go to school.  Talks about the time he spends at school, and even sings songs from school.  Today I was pretending I was in his class and he said, "No, Mom you are not in my class.  You are just the "pick-up girl!"  Meaning my job is just to take him to and from school :)

He has been excited to participate in gymnastics and even complains that it isn't fair that Avery gets to play soccer and he doesn't.  The time has finally come, my little baby is a little boy and he is still cute and sweet but he doesn't need his mama all the time.  Bittersweet!  I couldn't be prouder of the leaps in bounds he seems to be making these days!  What a big boy we have!

Food Trucks!

Tuesday evening after playgroup we followed our friends over to eat dinner at the park.  The kids were able to play on the playground.  Then, we walked the parking lot and had a few samples before deciding which trucks to get dinner from.  The concept is so neat!  It is even better in person.  The smells, the people, and the actual food.  I wish I could have had time to try something from every truck.  Instead we had dinner from one and cupcakes from another.  We had a picnic in the grass and when the kids were done eating they just ran around.  

Clearly the cupcakes were a hit!  Christy, I will help you sell your cupcakes if you want to get a food truck :)

Then, we got to listen to some music after dinner!

The weather was perfect.  The food was yummy and our company was fun!  Thanks for letting us tag a long Christy!  I cannot wait to go back again!

We love you so much and hope your day is super duper special!  We enjoyed celebrating this weekend and wish we could hug you today!

Dylan's First Day of Two Year Old Preschool

Before we left for school....

Today was Dylan's big day! He started out happy, and once we arrived his mood changed.  He started crying and said, " I not going to school!"  He has two sweet teachers and a class of 12 children and I knew he would be okay if he would just give it a whirl.  They said he cried for the first five minutes and then he was okay.  He didn't really participate and he didn't go potty the entire 3 hours he was at school.  However, I got to school early and was first in the carpool line.  That gave me the chance to see him play on the playground.  He played and was happy!  That  made me feel so much better and he said he had a good day!  Now, to see what day two brings!
