The Pettit's in Peachtree City

Thursday the kids and I piled in the car and spent the day with some of our favorite friends!  Johanna and I met in college and although we don't see each other as often as we would like it is so much fun when we get together.  Who would have guessed that between the two of us we would have five kids that love to play!  The kids had so much fun!  Even though we usually get to visit just once a year we never miss a beat the kids play beautifully and it was so fun to just chat and catch up!

Recently, Johanna and her family moved to Peachtree City and we were excited to see why people rave about the town and just by driving though we could tell it was a special place.  Lots of golf cart paths, lots of green grass, lovely shopping centers, and of course beautiful homes!  Your new home is lovely!  Thanks so much for having us over all day long!

All in a days work

And, she worked just about the entire day preparing for the grand opening of Avery's Diner!  She made a a sign on her easel that I forgot to take a picture of, a check in sheet for reservations which stood at her hostess stand.  She printed and illustrated the menu.  Helped cook and set the table complete with flowers and candles.  I also forgot to mention that she had to clean the kitchen so that it was clean enough to be called a restaurant.  Avery loved this little project that kept getting bigger as we went along.  I even think she may have learned a thing or two!  So grateful that we have days that we can go with the flow and have fun doing what the kids love, playing and using their imaginations!

Bravo Avery on a job well done!

Fun, fun, and more fun

Well, I forgot to blog about swim lessons but we did them!  The first few weeks of summer were swim lesson boot camp.  We practically lived at the pool.  Arrived late morning, picnicked poolside, and then swam until nap time.  Ms. Angie did her job!  Avery is swimming and diving even better and despite Dylan quitting after three lessons... he is much more comfortable in the pool!

I know...I have not been doing a good job keeping up to date with our fun summer.  However, two weeks ago we went to Lake Keowee with some of our best big and little buds!  We all had lots of fun and I am still amazed at how well all of the little ones did.  And, they out numbered us big folk!  Of course, Handley and Avery were old pro's.  Wake boarding with Robby like it was as easy as walking, and we couldn't get them off of the tube!  Dylan did tube and liked it!  It was a great weekend!  A huge thanks to the Posener's!

The sun came out...

and so did we!  We got so many great pictures I had a hard time picking which ones to post!  I myself and probable Grampa too, can't get over how our family has grown!  We sure are lucky!  Hopefully we won't wait so long to all get together again!

The O'Mara Family Reunites in Clearwater

At the end of June, one large, fun family met up in Florida.  This group was made up of two of my Mom's sisters, two of her brothers, eleven of my cousins, and eight of our children!  Just one of my Mom's brothers and one cousin were missing!  That in itself was pretty amazing!  We had a wonderful week full of food, laughs, stories, rain, and sun.

Tropical storm Debbie kept us inside a bit at the beginning of the week but it was a great way to get us all chatting and catching up. By Wednesday the sun was out and it was time for beach games/tournaments, cookouts, and splashing in the waves.  It was a fantastic trip with family we just don't get to see often enough!  Love this family!

Oh...we got to meet Carson!  Tessa's handsome hunk!  He was such a sweetheart and jumped right into the thick of the family!  Very nice to meet and get to know him!
