North Georgia State Fair

Off to the North Georgia State Fair today. This is the second year we made the ten minute trip to see the animals, rides, and people watch at the fair. We arrived when they opened and got to see all the sights. Can you believe they had elephants, zebras, and tigers? We were pretty shocked too! We got to feed the camels, goats, sheep, and llamas. Avery and Dad rode the carousel and we had a nice lunch in the shade. It was a great way to spend the morning! We are even considering going back next weekend.

Baby Sprinkle

Smaller than a Baby Shower, but just as sweet! This week our playgroup threw a Baby Sprinkle for me and two other expecting Mama's. Carrie Beth, Handley, and Harper were kind enough to host the event. It was such a special afternoon. We all got dressed up enjoyed great food and company. We were also able to celebrate the expanding group of children.

They came up with the cute name "sprinkle" because it was smaller than a baby shower. All of us are pregnant with our second children and have all of the necessities. So, it was really fun to get spoiled with cute personalized gifts. Dylan got so many adorable bibs, burp cloths, and outfits. Avery and I sure are lucky to live in a neighborhood with such a supportive group of ladies and children. Thank you all for such a great party to celebrate Dylan's arrival!

Sewing up a storm.

While it has been raining cats and dogs in Atlanta, I have been using my free time to sew. It also helped that Trevor traveled to Dallas this week, so my evenings were spent finishing up a few projects I have been working on. Keep in mind
I just started sewing a few months ago and am very new to this hobby. I am really enjoying it. With Carrie Beth as my teacher, she so patient, I am finding success. She found an adorable pattern to make the girls Halloween dresses and walked me through each step. I am thrilled at how the finished product looks. In less than a week it will be time for Avery to start wearing it. As long as it fits that is!

I also completed a few burp clothes and they seem to get easier each time I do it. So take a look at my finished products. Can you tell I am proud? It has been a while since I have had time to do something like this and in about 5 weeks I am afraid there will be no such thing as free time.

Sesame Street Live

We were off to see the Sesame Street Live show this afternoon with Ammy, Bampa, and the Posener's. Bampa was able to get us into the box which made the show so much more enjoyable. This allowed the girls to stand up and dance. They had a ball! Elmo and his gang were very entertaining. Great show! The food was delicious. It was absolutely a great way to spend a yucky rainy afternoon! Thanks Bamp!

A Date With Daddy!

Saturday I volunteered at Avery's Preschool Consignment Sale. My shift was 8-12. This left Avery and Daddy alone together all morning to enjoy each other's company. When I got home and they told me about their morning, I realized it is no wonder that Avery loves her Daddy "the best!"

My two monkey's started the day out with some delicious eggs. Did I mention Avery slept in until 9:00. She hasn't done that for over a month. Next, they got dressed and headed to Pet Smart to have a mini field trip to see all of the animals. From there, they headed to the bookstore where Avery got a new Max and Ruby book. She was also able to play with the train and toys at the store. The fun didn't stop there! They were off to have lunch and ice cream at ChickFila. Of course, they have an indoor playground. That was the perfect way for Avery to get some energy out on the rainy day. I did call at one point to check on them and Daddy asked Avery if she wanted to talk to me. I heard her loud and clear when she said, "NO!" I think she was a little sad when I came home. I am so glad they had a good time and wouldn't mind if they did these little outings more often :)

Imagination Fascination

Lately Avery has been really using her imagination while playing. Her favorite past time is to make pretend beds for her babies. She makes these beds in our bed out of pillows and blankets. She will make them in the living room with the sofa cushions or anywhere else for that matter. She hasn't even been asking to watch TV for the last two weeks because she is so excited about making these beds. She puts all of her dolls and animals to sleep and just has so much fun! Trevor is wondering how long this little stage is going to last because that is what she wants to do with him all the time! It is really adorable.

This week, Avery got a new tent from Ammy and Bampa along with Max & Ruby (her new favorite TV show characters). We were supposed to be getting last minute things for Dylan's arrival but of course our two year old had to have a present too. So, she has been camping out with her friends for the past two days. She has asked me for a flashlight and marshmallows for their sleepovers.
The topper was when she said, "Mom put the tent outside." Please tell me how a two year old can think of these things!!!! Avery's imagination has been working over time and it is so neat to see all of the creative things she does.

It's Raining, It's Pouring!

It has been a rainy week in Atlanta. Avery loves to sing her "rain" songs and has been able to sing them everyday. She was even more excited to get out in the rain and splash around today. It all happened when Daddy pulled in the garage after work. It started with her hand, then a leg, and before Trevor and I finished saying hello she was completely out in the rain getting drenched. She was running, singing, and splashing. At that point, Trevor ran out to enjoy the cool summer rain too. I had so much fun watching the two of them play in the rain. We literally had to drag Avery inside. It was tough to capture the amount of fun they were having with the camera, but I gave it my best shot!

When Daddy's go away...

The girls get together and play!

Last week Handley's Daddy and Avery's Daddy were traveling on business. So, we all got together to play and eat pizza. It was a great evening for sure. Baby Harper is now a big girl and we got to see her eat cereal for the second time. She looked like a professional! Thanks for joining us for some fun ladies!

Happy Birthday Ammy!

Brunch with Ammy this morning to celebrate her special day! We all enjoyed a nice meal and time with Mom! Avery had a bite off of everyone's plate and enjoyed her own eggs, pancakes, and french toast. Thanks for being such a wonderful Mom! We love you!!!! Happy Birthday!!!

And...the Belly Shot!

A few weeks ago Tally and I took our families to get photographed. James and Lindsay are friends of Tally and Jake's and were sweet enough to take lots of pictures. I am so glad we did it! It was one of those should we, the bellies are really big. But, how many times do you get to be pregnant let a lone with your sister so we decided to go for it! Now that we got the pictures, I am ready to meet the boys! 7 more weeks!

Wesleyan Football Game

Tonight we went over to Whitfield Academy to see the junior varsity football game. The Wolfpack was playing against Wesleyan. Aunt Tally coaches the j.v. cheerleaders and Uncle Jake coaches the football players. The weather was perfect and even though on the way over Avery said, "Avery no like football." By the halftime it was her favorite sport. She was mesmerized by the cheerleaders and wanted to sit on the track by Aunt Tally.

Avery even stole the half-time show. She spotted Uncle Jake in the end zone meeting with the team and took off across the field. The announcer said it best...."And she is tackled at the twenty!" Tally was the fastest and brought Avery down kicking and screaming at the twenty yard line. It was quite a sight! Needless to say that was our cue to leave. It was a great time though and Wesleyan won the game!

Gymnastics Class!

It has been a week of first's. Today we went to our first gymnastics class. Avery thought it was just the greatest thing. Handley is in Avery's class and they just had a blast exploring all of the equiptment. They walked the balance beams, flipped down the mats, bounced on the trampolines, and swung on the bars. The time flew by and the girls can't wait until next week. Oh... the teacher was fabulous too! This active class is just what Avery needs, thanks for the great idea Carrie Beth!

Day One of Preschool...

Wow, time flies! I am still in shock that my baby girl just finished her first day of preschool. She woke up happy as could be, then ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast.

Silly poses in her cute ice cream dress.

My big girl in her car seat just before they got her out of the car. She was beaming and so excited!

I was so ready for this day! However, as soon as they took her out of the car and walked her through the preschool door the tears popped out! I totally did not expect to get emotional but it was a big day for me too! Don't get me wrong I went to the Muffins for Mom's at preschool, but quickly left to do errands, listen to the radio and enjoy my free time.

When I returned a little over two hours later they brought Avery to my car in tears. I thought my heart might rip in half. On the playground someone threw wood chips in her face. My poor baby! She just couldn't pull it together after that and cried on and off until I picked her up. She was crushed! Half way home she settled down and told me she liked school and wanted to go back. This afternoon she has been really happy and I truly am looking forward to us both enjoying our time apart!
