Spend the night party!

Wake up, picture day at school, load the car and head to Grammy and Bampa's for the night. Truss and Aunt Tally stopped by. Avery shared her caramel apple with him, and he LOVED it! Bamp came home from work a little early and we all had a delicious supper. Then some serious playtime and lots of laughs. We love sleepovers!

She wears many different hats

but if I had to guess now I think she will be a pastry chef when she grows up! The girl just loves to read cookbooks, watch cooking shows, and bake desserts! This week while making blueberry muffins she said, "Mom can I have a couple dollops of the batter?" Who talks like that you ask....our Avery! She is a riot!

War Eagle!

Saturday night we had the Parker's over for some family football fun! It was a party Avery and I had been preparing for the entire week. We bought pink flowers, Halloween candy and decorated more than two dozen sugar cookies. To say we were excited is an understatement. We all dressed up in our team colors. Aunt Tricia and Uncle Kyle in South Caroline crimson and the Atkinson's in our orange. Avery couldn't be talked out of pink but she does know the Auburn cheers so that counts for something, right??? We all enjoyed the close game and lots of fun munchies. Thank goodness the Tigers pulled out a win and bonus is that the Cowboys did the same. It was a good weekend at our house!

A Zoorific Day!

This week is fall break at school so we have been taking advantage of every minute of fun we could possibly have. We spent a day with Grammy. We have had play dates, and swim sessions, and today we took Daddy and Dylan to the zoo. We had a blast! I am really beginning to like family of four fun days! I think I had as much fun as the little ones just watching everyone so happy. The weather was bearable, kids were fantastic, great picnic, and lots of laughs. Now, I am looking forward to a weekend of fun. Three more days to pack it in!

Bumps, bruises, and two teeth!

So my little boy is off and running this week he learned how to pick up his feet and really move. Unfortunately, this has also resulted in multiple tumbles. One outside where he skinned his nose and forehead on the patio. The past two days he has wiped out on the hard wood floor. Both times managing to hit his brand new (I mean two day old) front teeth on the hardwood floor. Causing blood tears and a worried mommy. He also now has a fat lip but this too felt better after he ate a popsicle and rice krispy treat covered with chocolate. I sure hope he gets this new step down so that he will have fewer spills.

Over the weekend his top two front teeth popped right out. They totally change his smile and make him look even older. So at nearly 11 months he is walking/running, and got his first teeth. He sure is growing up fast and had a busy month. I also noticed his crib is shall we say scraped or chewed on. I never had this problem with Avery but evidently it makes the teething process feel better??? I will have to figure out how to stop this!

Dylan also said "baaaa" while imitating a sheep sound this afternoon. I know enough bragging already but he is changing and growing every single day! Boy do I love this guy! And he...well he really loves his big sister and his daddy!

Excuse the lack of a shirt but he is drooling so much it is easier to leave him shirtless when possible. Aunt Tally and Truss babysatt this weekend. They all had a ball playing together!

She shoots, She SCORES!

Friday night was our first soccer game. I was a little scared, and getting lost on the way to the field just made it worse. When we arrived our little fearless warrior ran out to the field without a clue and started playing. She did run right onto the field next to us the first drive. But then she got the hang of it. She watched and learned quickly. She screamed, "remember no hands" to all of her competitors. Then, in the third quarter she scored her first goal. By the end of the game she scored twice and was thrilled with her performance. As were Trevor and myself. She gave it her all and ran all over! She was adorable and even with my slight hesitation I am thinking this soccer choice was the right one. Way to go girl!!!

The girls held hands during kickoff and a few moments just after.

Red faces, cooling off after the game!

Get out the baby book and mark this date!!!! Dylan took his first steps Friday August, 27th. First he took three, and then he started going about six feet. Trevor, Avery, and I are so proud of our little man! He is 10 1/2 months and just happier than ever. He is loving this new found freedom. In fact, he is everywhere. He climbs everything and is all over this house. His favorite thing to do is play soccer! I have a video of him walking, and one of him playing soccer but haven't figured out how to upload it. In the two weeks since he took his first steps he is really improving. Watch out world Dylan Bruce is on the move. I love you big boy!!!

By the way, it is really hard to get a good picture of a babies first steps. They are so unpredictable.

Centennial Olympic Park

Our second picnic to the great park downtown Atlanta. This year we had two more little ones and even more fun. The big girls really loved the water show. I am thinking next time Dylan will be all over the playgrounds too! I hope we can sneak in one more little outing before the weather is too cold.

PS~I have lots of other pictures but have spent two days uploading these. Maybe we will save them for a rainy day!

Lobster cookies

The week after our Maine trip we baked some yummy lobster cookies Grammy had given us. We had so much fun baking. Avery was the head chef and Dylan was the taste tester. They were delicious!

A little too much sugar!
