You might be a redneck if..

your idea of fun on a Friday night is an impromptu picnic in your driveway. Now, if I would have known this would have evolved from the kids and I waiting for Daddy to get home from work into appetizers, then dinner, I would have been a little more prepared. Possibly even a little less trashy.

It started with the bouncy seat for Dylan, Avery sat in her car seat that is out of Daddy's car for the day, and me on the beach towel. From there things escalated. I think the neighbors think we are bonkers but we had a jolly time! Avery will probably want to do this every weekend from now on. Who needs an nice outdoor living room anyway??? Well...it might be nice, but this will surely do the trick!

Wowie Gazowie

It has been a great week! Play dates, naps, errands and all. Last night we picked Trevor up from work and went to our favorite outdoor restaurant. Tanquaria del Sol. We all enjoyed our tacos and the fresh air. When we got home we played in the backyard (soccer, and t-ball). I just get so excited thinking about how much fun we are going to have when Dylan can play too. When it was time for bed, Avery let Dylan and I join her and Daddy for just one book. It was one of those perfect moments. I wish I had a camera but I took a mental picture. All four of us crammed in her full sized pink bed reading a story and laughing. That is what it is all about. The little precious things that melt your heart. Just after Avery was born my Mom told me, "Just when you think you can't handle it things change." I have found that to be very true. Just when you think you can't go another night waking up every three hours, they sleep. Just when the terrible two tantrums can't get any worse, they are over. Change is constant and these happy moments and sweet stages just keep getting better. Parenthood is awesome! (at least that is the kind of day we had today :))

Bamp's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Bampa! Your Three Amigos, 4 daughters, 3 son-in-laws, 1 wife, and 3 mangy mutts all LOVE you! We hope you had a great day! We loved sharing it with you!

Bampa and his Three Amigos!

I better thank Mom and Dad again. After an Avery sleepover they let Avery, Dylan, and I hang out at the house from 12-6. Everyone had nice naps and great playtime. We had yummy tacos and LOVED spending time with them. Thanks for all of your help today! WE had a blast!

Saturday Fun

This weekend was another busy one full of fun! Saturday was a stormy day. Avery had a date with Auntie Tally to grab lunch and see the play Beauty and the Beast. They had a wonderful time! However, Avery wouldn't step foot into the theater. I think it was that loud Beast that scared her. Ammy came to the rescue and picked her up so Auntie Tally could watch the show.

From there she was off to a sleepover and Ammy and Bamp's. On the way home Ammy asked if she wanted to pick out a toy at Wal-Mart. Avery said no, let's just go to your house. They played all day! Ate dinner at Norman's Landing and stayed up late watching Aristocats. She loved every second of their time together and soaked up the extra attention. Today was Bampa's birthday and making a cake for him and getting to wake him up on his special day was a lot of fun for her. Today when we left she was all teary. I think we need to go back there soon!

Trevor and I enjoyed our weekend but felt a little lost at first. It was mighty quiet and we didn't know what to do with ourselves. We did a little shopping and a lot of loving on our big boy. We had a nice dinner out and enjoyed the quiet house this morning. We accomplished quite a few projects.

My boys and I before dinner.

Thanks Ammy, Bamp, and Auntie Tally for your tag teaming of fun with Avery! She misses you! Thank you!

Dylan got to test out his new sippie cup. He LOVES it!

Avery got a few blister's on her feet. Time to shoe shop again :) However, she will actually sit in the stroller now. Not for long but Dylan and I like it!

My Little Boy is 6 Months Old!

Wow, I have such mixed emotions. I am a tiny bit sad and really very happy about this milestone. I am sad he isn't a baby, baby anymore. And so happy that we have a lot of fun exciting changes to look forward to. Dylan you are such a blessing and a ray of sunshine!!! WE LOVE YOU BABY BOY!

At six months of age Dylan loves to laugh! He is full of smiles and has such a great temperament. He has rolled once or twice but not on purpose. He doesn't seem to have any desire to roll either. He can sit up for short periods of time and is good with his hands. He eats baby food, cereal, and yogurt. Keep up the good work buddy!

If the shoe fits

Avery is officially signed up for summer ballet class! This afternoon we celebrated by a trip to Brusters for ice cream and then bought ballet shoes. Of course, Handley and Avery will be experience their ballet dreams together. They tried on the shoes but were even happier running around the store. They are a riot!

Dylan got a little taste of ice cream and didn't know what to think of it.

Rest, Relax, Refreshed

Vacation(definition from www.yourdictionary.com)
vacation definition va·ca·tion (vā kā′s̸hən, və-)

noun

1.freedom from any activity; rest; respite; intermission
2. a period of rest and freedom from work, study, etc.; time of recreation, usually a specific interval in a year

We were fortunate to spend five great days with Grampa Bruce and Grammy Tina. The kids and I loved every single second. From the time we arrived until our departure
everything we did was fun!

We got to pet parrots. Avery loved them! We had many lunches at the club. Swam at the pool and the beach. Avery and Grammy fixed chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Went for golfcart rides. Walks to explore the nieghborhood. Nice dinners, and lots of quality time together. Now we really did pack the fun in. Avery loved being the center of attention and wore us all out. Poor Grammy played tag for hours!

Now I know I have said it before but being with the Atkinsons is heaven for me! When we go to see them they have everything! Toys, beds, strollers, you name it! All we have to do is show up. Avery loves her big pink big girl bed there as much as at home. It seems the last few months have been super busy and maybe the hardest with having two kids. However, the help I get when I am with them is amazing! They even watched the kiddos and sent Trevor and I on a date. I also got to take my first walk with just Dylan and me! This was a much needed vacation. And getting to spend it with Grammy Tina and Grampa Bruce was perfect! Thank you for all of your help! We had a blast!!! I had trouble narrowing down the pictures.

Monday madness

What a great day!

We got to meet Leighton at the park to celebrate her birthday. We have to miss her party but got to share her big day with her. The girls had a McDonald's lunch, played for a few hours at the park, and then finished up with a delicious birthday brownie. Happy 3rd birthday Leighton! Avery adores you!

Everyone grabbed a quick nap. Then, Sarah and Jessica came over for pizza. Actually they brought the pizza and shared with us. Our Daddy's are all traveling so it was a fun pizza party for the girls plus the D Man! Another fun time for all!

These two shots are of the kiddos playing with Liz and Aaron (two super sweet extra great babysitters) As Avery says, they make a good team and are lots of fun! Trevor and I snuck out to watch the end of the Masters and enjoy the beautiful weather. A great day for a date.

Saturday Scramble

Upon waking up Trevor was off to Maine. The rest of us got ready for Harper's big birthday. Yep, she is already one! Avery was ready to head over to there house around 8:30. It has never been so easy to bathe her, brush her hair, teeth, and eat breakfast. The girl couldn't wait! As you can see from the pictures. Carrie Beth knows how to throw a party. It was perfect and Harper smiled the whole time. Now Dylan he fussed most of the time, very unlike him. The best part of the party was Harper's slide show. Loved it! Also, as you can see Avery thinks she is a Posener Girl. She had to be in the sister birthday photo :) Sorry CB!

Then it was on to do our afternoon baking. Apple cinnamon muffins with a tad of frosting. Pink frosting! Avery loved them.

This is for you Dad! We missed you today. Hugs to Nana. We got Big Red washed and Avery was super helpful. Dylan watched from the stroller but was well behaved.

Well, I am exhausted. I think it is time to hit the hay! Night!

All in a day.

Another gorgeous Spring day in the ATL. Temps near 86! The only bad thing is pollen, it is EVERYWHERE! I can't stop sneezing. However, it doesn't seem to affect anyone else in the family. I know they are all wishing we could sleep with the windows open for one night. I wish!

Today we played outside, grabbed lunch with Daddy, made our nightly trek to the creek with a bag full of carrots to feed the bunnies. Then, baths and one game before bed. Now lets just hope everyone stays in bed so that Trevor and I can enjoy this Red Sox game!
