Back to the basics

Gosh time seems to be flying and each day that passes I feel a bit of panic inside that my time at home with my babies will soon be over. They are growing so, so fast! Avery is in school four days a week 3 hours a day and I think it is just too much! Dylan and I miss her terribly and I just want a morning to play and lounge in our PJ's till 9. I know she loves school and is learning so much but gee whiz, time is flying by! Dylan and I are enjoying our time alone! We go to the barn and look at horses a few times a week, we read lots, of books, and run many errands. Since, I keep getting this "fleeting time" hysteric, I have really made an effort to stay off the computer, text a little less (still hard), chat on the phone less, blog fewer and farther between, and play more. I am happy to report it has been a lot of fun!

The kiddos are just as sweet as can be and play really well together. I love watching them! Every now and then Dylan gets a little sassy and whacks her with a golf club or pulls her hair. But it is kind of cute because it always happens when he wants her attention and she is doing something else. She never retaliates and is very patient with her little brother. I am working on it along with the temper tantrum he throws now and then. Dylan was pulling for the Red Sox this week and it is a bummer things didn't work out. However, we will be right back in the uniform in the Spring cheering for our boys! Avery and I made homemade chocolate chip pumpkin bread and cookies this week. We LOVE fall! And, Thursday Daddy met us after school to feed the ducks, fish, and turtles. Then, we all ate at the bakery. A great week for sure!

Picture Day

Round One...
Avery picked out her very favorite outfit. Half way to school I get an email from her teacher saying picture day is really tomorrow. Oops, they made a mistake. Do I want to changer her outfit? Not a chance she was going to take off that pretty skirt!

Round Two...
Avery goes with something a little more classic. Her teacher said she smiled pretty. Can't wait to see those pictures of my big preschooler!

Had to sneak her little brother in for a quick pic!

Fall Recreation

We are having a ball this fall staying busy with lots of extra curricular activities.

Dylan is continuing gymnastics. Since the day his teacher gave him a horse sticker it has become one of his favorite places to go. As his teacher said last week, she now has a new best friend. He walks into the gym like he owns the place and yells "Rita!" (Ms. Rita is his teacher). He will then take her hand and let her help him on all of the obstacles. He loves the big balance beam and even adds a little kick to each step on days when he is feeling extra daring. It is so fun to watch him enjoy himself. I also LOVE that he is beginning to feel comfortable with grown ups outside from his family.

Avery's third soccer season is underway and she is rockin it! She tries so hard and improves with each game and practice. She really has a great time but does say it wears her out a little bit :) It is so much fun to go cheer her on!

The last pictures are of a Halloween cardboard house I got as a fun project for us to do together. We are still working on coloring all it, but it has been lots of fun. The finish product will be posted as soon as we finish decorating our masterpiece.

Annabelle Turns FOUR!

Sunday, we were able to go to one of the most fun birthday parties ever. I am not sure who had more fun Avery, or me! We went to the American Girl Doll Store for lunch and then to ride the carousel at the mall. Since it was a Mommy/daughter party my Dad was kind enough to come take care of Dylan since Trevor is out of town. Don't feel bad for Dylan because he went to the horse park and got to see tons of neigh, neighs! He was so excited with for his Grampa date! He also met up with us just in time to ride the carousel too!

Avery loved every second in the pink doll boutique and then the fun party room. We had appetizers, lunch, and cake and ice cream all while enjoying our best friends company. I think the birthday girl loved every second too! Happy birthday Annabelle!

As we were leaving Avery started crying and asked if we could keep the doll they let us borrow during lunch. Of course, we couldn't but maybe she can add a doll to her Christmas list!

PS. Becca we wish we could go to lunch at American Girl with you XOXO

Getting out...

We snuck out to a great local spot this week and enjoyed a great dinner. They have an unbelievable spread for the kids complete with an ice cream bar. Did I mention the amazing face painter and balloons? You can easily see Avery's princess crown but Dylan's blue "neigh, neigh" is on his forearm.

Saturday, Trevor and I got to enjoy one of our favorite past times, football! Even though Auburn lost we had a great time together! Love you babe! And thank you Sheila for taking great care of our babes!

Happy Birthday Ammy!

Happy birthday Mom!
We had so much fun celebrating at Auntie Tricia and Uncle Kyle's house with donuts, eggs, bagels, and more! Hope you had a great day! We love you!

The rains came in earlier this week and the kids loved splashing in the puddles! The rain also brought us cooler temps. It has been so nice to ride with the windows down. Come on fall!

Our friend Sarah spend Tuesday with us and we had a blast playing all day! The kids were completely warn out from the day of fun but it was very worth it! We love that sweet Sarah!

I just love this picture of the sweet cousins bathing together. They are finally starting to play and enjoy each other's company. We have gotten together once a week for the past three weeks and they are really getting comfy together! Gotta love the cousins!

For a Goof

I bought Dylan some big boy UNDIES! I have no intention of potty training him at the moment as I hear boys are harder, and he is still over a month away from his second birthday. However, he is interested so we went shopping! He has been asking to go potty every time anyone uses the bathroom. He can always go potty and tries to go poopy every time. He has gone number two but I am still trying to convince him that you don't have to do both every time you use the bathroom.

I managed to find some undies that fit him and had no idea what kind to buy so I bought a few styles and they are adorable. He has been wearing them around the house when we know we are home for a little while.

It is still so hard for me to believe my baby is growing into a toddler so fast. In fact, I am loving the decision to keep him home from school another year. As much as I could use a bit of me time, I am loving my "D" time! Now Dylan doesn't want to go to school yet either but he also wants his big sis to stay home. On Wednesday, Avery's teacher came to get her out of the car and shut the door. Dylan then said, "Oh Man! Aayeee at school! Ayee no go to school play wit me!" I was tickled and so happy he loves her so much! He truly does miss her and I really am trying to have fun with him. We have been to Monkey Joe's, the playground every sunny day, the barn to see the horses and gymnastics when we remember! Goodness me I love this little boy!

Also, for the record he went to the gym playroom (nursery) all by himself for the first time ever and did it! What a great feeling! Go Dylan!!! Now if I could just work out all the kinks of the new bedtime routine. This big boy bed adjustment/freedom is a little different!

School Days!

School is off to a fantastic start! After a few morning butterflies, Avery was happy at pick up! Her words exactly, "School was better than awesome!" She has two wonderful teachers. One of which taught her during her very first year (when she was 2). Her best friend Leighton is in her class again and she couldn't be happier. They are meeting all new friends and having lots of fun!

Dylan enjoyed seeing her classroom but is far from being ready for his own school adventure. This silly boy!
