Rough Weekend

The Atkinson house was a sick house this weekend. It was so sad to see my loves sick and stuck in bed. The good news is they are both on the mend. I have never done so much laundry and cleaning in my life. I have to admit that getting out of the house last night at 8:30 and just walking around Target was fun too. It was the first time I got out of the house for four days! Enough of the Tiara pity party though, because I was lucky enough to feel well and take care of everyone. We hated to miss the Trussell Thanksgiving today, but we sure do have a lot to be thankful for!

I wanted to share this cute picture of Avery enjoying her box house. We have had it for about two weeks but she finally likes to play in it!

Poor Baby!!

Last night around 9:15 Avery woke up and started to cry. This is unusual for her so I went in read her a story and tried to put her back to bed. However, she wanted her Daddy. Trevor then read to her and laid her down. It hadn't been five minutes before I heard a few coughs and then Avery yelling, "binkie, binkie!!!" I ran in her room to find her binkie covered in throw up. (Sorry to be so graphic, this was her first time throwing up) Needless to say we were up until about 3:00. Poor thing! She was really a good sport, but it is pitiful to see your baby sick. We slept for until 6:30 (not nearly long enough). Things seemed to get better as the day went on. Avery napped well and was even asking for eggs at lunchtime. I am crossing my fingers that the worst is over, but who knows. I have been cleaning like crazy in hopes that we can get this bug out of the house. Good night! I have a few winks to catch up on.

Up to Alpharetta!

Sunday Trevor traveled to Boston, and Avery and I packed up and went to visit Grama and Grampa in Alpharetta. From the moment we arrived she said "horsey, horsey, horsey." So after lunch and a nap we headed to Wills Park to watch the horse show. I have never seen her sit so still. She loved watching the horses and dogs. "Run, run, run, jump!" Was her favorite phrase. We were able to pet the horses too! I am afraid she is going to want to see the horses every time we go to Grama and Grampa's.

After an action packed sleepover and eggs for breakfast and lunch we got to see Auntie Tricia try on her wedding dress. It was PERFECT! Avery was able to eat all of the cookies at the bridal shop too. I think she should have been the Cookie Monster for Halloween, as it seems they are her favorite food. For dinner we caught up with Stacey (one of my best friends from high school) We rode the carousel, played at the indoor playground, and ate dinner at the food court. To make our good day great Stacey got Avery a cookie! She was overjoyed! I just hope after all of that hustle and bustle she gets a great night sleep and is ready to play with her Daddy tomorrow night!

Halloween

Our Halloween festivities began two weeks ago. With trips to the pumpkin patch, the neighborhood parade, and trick or treating. Avery loved it all, except the red shoes. So our Dorothy completed her outfit with purple crocs. At first she tried to give back the candy but by the fifth and final house she had the trick-or-treating down and was trying to get as much candy as possible into her pumpkin.

This weekend we also were able to spend time with Grammy and Grampa. Avery had a blast playing with them. They were here for four days and I don't know if they ever stopped playing! Grammy and Grampa got Avery a new car and she would ride it all day if she could.

Finally...

After much hesitation, I have finally given in and created the blog. For the past few months I have enjoyed keeping up with friends and family by following their blogs. I have found them such an easy and fun way to stay in touch. I am hoping that this blog will enable us to have one more way that family and friends can see how our lives our growing and changing. Just please be patient as I learn how this whole thing works.
