Happy Birthday Daddy!

This week we were able to celebrate Dad's 60th birthday in style!  We had cake and ice cream and a yummy ziti dinner up at my parents house on Monday.  The kids loved Grampa's birthday party.  Then Grampa kept celebrating all week.  We met up with him again on Saturday night at the Capital Grille downtown.  It was so much fun to have a night out with just the adults.  Dinner was fantastic and boy was it fun to celebrate the Best Dad in the Whole Wide World!  We love you Dad!

Look what the weekend blew in...

Auntie Lyn-Ann!  She arrived Friday, caught a soccer game, two dinners, lots of hugs, and flew out Sunday morning!  It was a quick trip for sure but so nice to see her!  We are looking forward to spending more time with her!  We love you L.A.!

Sweet fun!

Recently we celebrated the birthdays of two of our close friends, Harper and Leighton.  Harper had an ice cream themed party and the weather was perfect to enjoy sweet treats and sweet friends.  We love that big birthday girl, 3 I can't believe it!

Leighton had a fun party at an indoor gym.  Where Dylan tried zip lining for the first time.  Th birthday girl was so sweet she let Avery share her special chair.  Their sweet looks during the singing of Happy Birthday was precious!  Happy 5th birthday Leighton!

We have also been enjoying the sunshine and had a glitter tattoo party last week.  It was fun!  And the kids loved playing in the culd-a-sac.  Dylan has a new favorite toy...the big four wheeler!  We are so lucky to live in such a great neighborhood!  Thanks Carrie!

Easter Sunday

Cousin cuties just after the Trussell egg hunt!

Our Easter weekend was full of activities, fun ones that kept us smiling.  Saturday we had our annual Barnes Mill Egg Hunt, and Sunday we headed up to Mom and Dad's for an Easter dinner after waking up finding baskets and going out to breakfast with Grammy and Grampa Atkinson.

We dyed eggs Saturday night and the kids really had fun with it!

Then it was Easter morning...

Then we got more baskets and goodies and Ammy and Bampa's house! We also had the BEST turkey and ham dinner with all the stuffins and a chocolate chip cake to die for!  Thanks Mom!

Big news...Grammy and Grampa Atkinson were in town house hunting.  We are thrilled that they will be coming to the Atlanta area soon!  They found the perfect house and if inspections go well, we will have them here in no time!  Yea!!! We loved getting to celebrate Easter with both Grandparents.  A treat for sure!

Young Love.....

Wednesday morning was a little bit crazy we had three wardrobe changes before school (if this isn't the beginning of life with a daughter, I don't know what is).  Finally, we were on our way and all trying to relax from the chaos of getting everyone out the door.  At carpool I had my first chuckle.  After the teacher that got Avery out of the car she came back and said, "Avery is a lucky girl!"  Why?  I asked.  Because "B" (I won't use his full name) brought her a flower to school today.  Then, she proceeded to say that she wished he would bring her a flower and he told her she was too old!

Well, I spent then next hour worried about how Avery would react.  Would she be embarrassed, would she like it???? I didn't know what to prefer!  Then, I got to volunteer in her class.  "B" was as cute as could be and very proud of his flower and his new girlfriend.  Avery was equally happy!  It was quite cute! She was very excited to tell me that on the playground he played nicely with her and followed all of the "girl rules!"   As of today, I am not sure if they played together or not but for one day it sure was sweet!  Young Love!

I emailed "B's" mom to thank her for making Avery feel so special and these are a few things she sent me in her reply:
These are things her son "B" told her on Tuesday

1.  Mom, when I told you before that I had a girlfriend I was kidding. I am serious this time.  Avery is my girlfriend.

2.  Will you take me to Home Depot so I can buy her flowers?

3.  She doesn't like to be chased so I don't chase her anymore.

4.  Avery is so pretty.  I wonder if she will be pretty when she is a lady.

5.  I was going to ask her to marry me but I forgot.  I will ask her tomorrow.

Oh... I want to remember this one!

First of Egg Hunt of the Season

And it proved to be lots of fun!  The Shrum's had us over for a great playgroup Easter party.  The kids found their eggs, blew bubbles, spray painted, got their faces painted and indulged in yummy treats.  It was a great kick off to the Easter festivities!  Thanks Sarah, Jessica, and Jennifer!

More fun...

Monday we tried out a new place called Catch Air with our friends Stacey and Cooper.  It was a really neat bouncy, explore, free play place.  It was good to catch up with the Mayer's who are expecting a new daughter in 8 days!  We look forward to meeting Mallory!

Trevor and I have been very lucky to be getting out  a bit as a couple.  After our bouncy morning my Mom offered to keep the kiddos overnight so we could go out and celebrate our anniversary.  I can't tell you how strangely wonderful it was to come home to a quiet house, get lots of errands done, get a pedicure (yes it had been over 6 months), go to the dentist, and grab dinner and complete a few conversations with my husband.  Thank you Mom and Dad!  Avery and Dylan loved the overnight!

Last week, Dad took us to a Bulls/Hawks game!  Watching it from the suite was absolutely a treat!  We also caught up with our friends the Parro's!  Fun!

And lastely, in case you are looking for a new resturant to try I stongly suggest the Georgia Grill.  One of our favorites and our favorite entree being the lobster enchilada.  It does not look as good as it tastes but it is worth every, single, calorie!

Off to enjoy this Spring Break!

Soccer Saturday!

This weekend Ammy, Bampa, Auntie Tricia and Little Ryann all made it to watch Avery play soccer!  It was a beautiful sunny day. After the game wrapped up we grabbed lunch and an ice cream.  Safe to say we all had great naps after the fresh air and fun!

Dylan tried out his photography skills on the sidelines!

And... on Friday one of Avery's best friends came over for the afternoon. The girls played, and played and enjoyed a little one on one time.  They also planted and painted some cute little flower pots.  It was a great way to kick off the weekend!
