Avery at the pool

Last week Tally took Avery to the pool to swim. They had a blast! Tally is so savy with the computer and all the tools that go along with it! She recorded Avery swimming and singing and talking. Click on the link to see our little fish!

Thanks Tally! I also really appreciate your help with the new blog background!

Ta Da...I think I have a new hobby!

Today my friend Carrie Beth came over at 9:30. She brought her two girls Handley and Harper. About 5 months ago we went fabric shopping and I bought some fabric to make a shower curtain. It has taken me all this time to get motivated and start my first project. Carrie Beth was kind enough and patient enough to walk me through each step of the process. We worked until about 5:30 and the shower curtain is finished. It looks great! I am so pleased and eager to start on another project! Who knew sewing could be this much fun! Thanks Carrie Beth!!!!

While we were working the girls had a blast. They acted so grown up and enjoyed playing on their own. I just love these pictures of the girls relaxing in the yard eating their Popsicles! What a blast!

Kids say the darndest things!

Avery's vocabulary seems to be expanding daily! Trevor and I find ourselves constantly laughing at her new phrases and ideas. Two of her most favorite questions lately are: "what's that?" and "why?" After the fifth "why?" I stop answering because she is never satisfied. I am hoping this curiosity will benefit her at school. She is also talking in sentences and stringing lots of words together. Yesterday afternoon she told Trevor, "Avery needs a binkie Daddy. Go get it now." I promise she does have manners, she just forgot them that time.

Friendship, ME

On Sunday, we picked up Nana and drove to visit Uncle Richard and Aunt Patty. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed the beautiful day! Aunt Patty showed Avery how to pick strawberries. Avery thought they were delicious. We ran around the yard. I even was able to snap a few pictures of the old house (I just think it is so neat). We walked down the wharf and picked out a few lobsters for lunch. Avery enjoyed touching them and seeing them up close and personal! Uncle Richard gave us a few buoys to hang in the babies room. (We are doing a nautical theme and they will be perfect!) Lunch was fabulous like always and we just loved getting to visit. We look forward to next year!

Lots to do at Grammy and Grampa's!

We had a wonderful week with Grammy and Grampa! From the moment we arrived Avery couldn't get enough of them. At the airport we asked her if she wanted to come to the hotel to check in or go with Grammy and Grampa. She couldn't wait to go with them and that was just the beginning! I think Avery is going to go through withdrawal this week. She thought everyday was a party. Non-stop fun to be exact! She loved all the toys upstairs at the house (especially the red tunnel full of balloons). Running around the yard playing hide and seek was another one of her favorite things to do! We also swam in the little pool and rode her little bike. There was never a dull moment. Whenever we arrived it was snack time too! Avery loved the snacks and was sweet enough to share one Elmo snack with Ladybug. Ladybug liked Avery a lot more this visit! One night we had a yummy lobster dinner with a bunch of friends. We all got messy eating the lobstahs in the garage. Once dinner was finished we had a pretend birthday party for Avery. It was another perfect evening! We were able to play with Spunky, Marge, Bob, Steve, and Judy but wished we could have seen the rest of the Berry's too!

Smiling Hill Farms

On our next outing Grammy and Grampa took us to Smiling Hill Farms. It was a neat place. Goats, cows, and miniature horses were a few of the animals we were able to see. They also had some really neat wooden vehicles for that the children could climb and play on. Avery loved exploring everything! She even fed the mini-ponies. One almost nipped her and she told us that he was the "mean one!" After playing around, we went inside and each picked out a delicious ice cream. Great idea Grammy and Grampa!

The Bonny Eagle Gang hits Pine Point

On our first full day of vacation, we packed up and headed to Pine Point. The morning was a little overcast but as the day wore on things brightened up. It was a lovely day. Trevor's friend Gretchen rented a great house at the beach for the entire month of July. The "old gang" plus families were all able to gather there and spent the day catching up. We hung out at the house, hit the beach, and just enjoyed seeing where everyone's lives have taken them.

I was finally able to meet Gretchen and her son Alex from San Fransisco. Stephanie and her two girls were there from California as well. Avery loved playing with the girls (Skyler and Quinn). The Collins family made it from Bridgton, ME. It was great to meet Katie, what a cutie. Trevor was able to get her to take her afternoon nap :) Scott was able to hang out for the day and he is always fun! Right before we had to leave the Herbert's stopped by. Great to see them as always!

Weekday Play!

Avery and her friend Sarah had a great time playing together this week. We had fun with a bubble machine, the sidewalk chalk, and some new finger paints. The girls love staying busy!

It was a nice weekend in Atlanta. Another baby born, Cooper Ryan Mayer. That meant a trip to Northside Hospital on Saturday to see the little guy and his proud parents. While we were there we took the time to show Avery the nursery and prepare her that her baby brother will be born there too. She was more interested in the orange pacifiers the babies had and the blue bubble gum cigar the Mayer's gave her. The rest of the weekend was spent playing, going to the pool, and a trip up to Alpharetta Sunday morning. Avery hadn't been up there in a while and loved getting lots of attention from her Grandparents!

Three days until we get to head up North! We are really looking forward to heading to Maine. Keep your fingers crossed we get some good weather. It will be tons of fun visiting with Trevor's parents and seeing some friends.

God Bless America!

Happy Fourth of July!

It has been a great three day weekend at the Atkinson house. Lots of pool time and playtime. Trevor and I even managed to sneak in a movie Saturday night. Tricia, Kyle, and Lucy all came over to watch Avery and we got to go see the Hangover (very funny).

Saturday, we went to the Parro's for a delicious cookout. Greg used his new smoker and made some yummy pork that went along with Melissa's mac n cheese. The Mayers brought some fireworks and Avery tried them out. She enjoyed her first experience with the fire! She just loved the sparklers!

We also got to see baby Tre again. What a cutie! Later this week Baby Mayer will arrive and we can't wait to meet him too!

Happy Fourth of July!

Girls Trip to Florida

Avery and I just got back from a quick trip with Mom, Tally, and Tricia to Clearwater, Florida. It was a nice getaway! We were able to visit with Grampa, The Brewer's, The Todd O'Mara's, and Aunt Tam and Quinn. Even with all the visiting we found time to take a dip in the awesome hotel pool and grab a few really good meals. Avery off course had a ball! She did great in the car and was quite a trooper. Her schedule got a little of course but she was a doll! Now we are hoping she will go to bed nicely tonight. After three nights of sharing a bed with "Ammy" who knows. She was Ammy's biggest fan! She loved the sleepovers! Great to see everyone!!! We love and miss you already!
