Run, it's the Easter Bunny!

Thursday we had our playgroup Easter Party. It is safe to say the Shrums know how to throw a party. The children had over 100 eggs to hunt, open, and eat. The Easterbunny made a surprise apperance, and everyone enjoyed lots of good food. We even recieved the coolest goodie bag. It was a great way to spend Friday afternoon. Except for one little problem...Avery was terrified of the Bunny! When she spotted him she stopped the egg hunt, looked, screamed and cried. When I took Dylan over to meet him and snap a picture she said, "where's my baby brother? no mom!" She only scared a few other kids. Most were more than happy to meet the soft cuddly guy.

This picture was taken before the Easterbunny came and Avery made us go inside.

Dylan looking all grown-up the other day.

A few cute pictures Carrie Beth took that I couldn't enlarge but love.

Parro Playgroup

We had a great Wednesday lunch at the Parro's. Thanks for preparing such a great feast. One for the ladies, and one for the kiddos. Avery can't wait to come back!

As you can see Dylan's new friend G is a binkie bandit. Dylan kind of enjoyed the tug of war game!

Spring has Sprung!

We played at the park for 2.5 hours on Tuesday. We woke up from naps early and enjoyed the sunshine. We are so lucky to live in a neighborhood full of sweet young kids all about the same age. It makes afternoon park entertainment the perfect way to clear your mind. We sure are happy to see this weather!

Southern Prep

Monday morning we woke up with plans to try something new. We followed Carrie Beth and the girls over to Marietta to a great place called Southern Prep. It is a gym with a foam pit and all that has open hours for kids to play. The girls all had a blast. They jumped, they flipped, they swung from ropes, slid down slides, and laughed a lot. It was the perfect way to spend an icky day and start off the week! Great idea CB!

Auntie Tricia's Birthday Party!

Happy Birthday Auntie Tricia! We had a great time celebrating with you! Your new home is LOVELY and that Lucy...she is a cutie! Hope you have a great day! We love you!

P.S. Grammy is not going to look like a Grammy in her new wheels! She is one gorgeous Grammy! Congratulations! We can't wait to go for a spin!

Daddy Dearest

Trevor watched the children today from 11:30 to 3:30. I had my volunteer shift at the fundraiser at Avery's school. To say he was nervous was an understatement but he survived. And tonight we have a babysitter and datenight so I would say it was all worth it!

Thursday morning I was able to sneak over to browse at the consignment sale/fundraiser for Avery's preschool. Carrie Beth was sweet enough to watch the kiddos while I shopped. I didn't bring a bag big enough for all of my finds. I spent $66.00 and got 18 articles of clothing and 3 toys.

Avery got a new raincoat, jeans, two leotards, and my biggest splurge was a 10.00 Lily Pultzer dress. Dylan got jeans some spiffy pants, a bathing suit, and some shorts. He also got a wooden truck. Avery seemed to like this toy the best. She says she is practicing so she can teach him how to use it. Sure!
I scored some great deals and the kiddos will be looking cute on top of it!

The Girls in their Glory!

On Thursday we were able to watch the Posener Girls again while their Mommy shopped the sale. She generously watched Avery and Dylan earlier in the day so I could shop. Boy was it nice to shop by myself. Avery and Handley together are trouble! We had so much fun and they kept us hoppin! Just look at their expression! When the two of them are together they are always up to something!

A Great Day with My Sis and My Nephew

Today was great! I woke up and was getting everyone ready for the day when Tally's text came in. Her and Truss were on their way over to spend the day with us! I couldn't wait. They arrived just as I got home from dropping off Avery at school. I got to hug and kiss on Truss while Dylan napped. We bathed him and just loved on him. Dylan got up, the boys ate and we packed them up to run errands and pick up Avery. Next, it was to the bakery for lunch. Then, a quick stop at the park for some fresh air. Now naptime! Thanks for making the trip to Smyrna Tally and Truss! We sure did enjoy every second with you!

Talented?

Dylan is getting good with his hands. He can pick toys up and bring them right to his mouth. He is also doing much better with his food. He can swallow and scream for more. It is safe to say he likes it!

Lately Avery has been very interested in drawing. I noticed her doing some very detailed drawings on the driveway this week. She was telling me what she was drawing and labeling her pictures with words. I was impressed by her rainbow (I think she learned that at school while studying St. Patrick's Day) and her little round person. This morning she did some other drawings and I had to post pictures of them. I am so proud of her. Take a look at my little artist!

This is her person. Notice the hands and legs, green eyes, red smile, and brown hair. Granted you have to use your imagination a little but I think it is pretty outstanding.

This is her landscape picture. Can you find the tree, red flowers, gray dog with a tongue and eyes? How about the yellow sun and blue sky?

Finally she is really trying to make an "A" Here is her best attempt at her signature. She is getting there. Four more letters to go!

I am so excited at how much she is learning! It is so much fun to see my babies growing and learning everyday! I promise I didn't help Avery at all with her drawings. It was all on her own. I watched her and helped when she had trouble opening a marker. Great job Avery!

Silly Nuts!

Today the Posener girls came over while Carrie Beth dropped off the Kindermart goodies to be sold. Kindermart is a consignment fundraiser for Avery's preschool. It is a big event and now Carrie Beth and I get to shop early. Carrie Beth was kind enough to let me add to her items to to the sale. We are both hoping to make a little bit of money and spend it on stuff at the sale this week.

I have to say I was a bit nervous to have all four kiddos at one time, but it was so much fun. It seems like we were all together for about 10 minutes when reality it was probably 30. We packed a lot of fun into those few minutes! The girls managed to play dress up and each have about 4 wardrobe changes in 5 minutes. They played dolls, play dough, screaming, and even had time to fit in a snack before Carrie Beth got back. Harper (11 months) was a doll! She was so sweet and cute. It reminded me of what I have to look forward to later this year with the "D" man. Such a fun age! Dylan took a catnap so he didn't have to put up with all the girls the whole time. However, as you will see from the pictures fun was had by all! Now we will do the kid swap later this week as we both get to do some Kindermart shopping!

As for the weekend, it was a bummer. Avery came down with a fever Friday afternoon and just wasn't herself. She has been fever free for three days and is doing lots better but still gets tired out quickly. I sure am ready for nice weather and healthy kids.

Say it ain't so!

Around 3:45pm Dylan woke up and was mighty hungry. Lately he has been distracted by Avery's loud talking and singing. Making nursing a bit more difficult. This afternoon was different. Avery and I had been quietly playing in the playroom when Dylan started stirring. I left Avery and went in to get Dylan up. I began to nurse him (note to self--you are a sitting duck while nursing and not able to move) and Avery walked in doing the shh sign. She then left the nursery and Dylan ate. We had about 15 minutes of peace. I was sure my angel was playing nicely. Then, she walked through the door beaming! I gasped and she said, "don't I look pretty Mama?" Wow! I asked her what she had done and she replied, "I just put on some make-up." I won't write anymore. The pictures speak for themselves. From now on I will put up my nice make-up!

What to do??

At COSTCO on Saturday Avery found something special. See picture below:

She has informed us this is what she wants for her birthday. Dilemma...Trevor really doesn't want playthings in our yard. However, we know she would LOVE it and USE it. This little house has a pretend grill sink and two sand thingies. It also has a window that can be used as a puppet theater and comes with two puppets. The doorbell works and it has a basketball hoop on the outside. Any thoughts? Will it just get dirty? Is it too hot in the south to get the proper use? Or do we just do it???? (Later we will contimplate if Trevor and I can put it together.)
