Alpharetta Sleepover

This weekend, Trevor went up to Maine to visit his Mother. That gave Avery and I a good excuse to go spend some time with Ammy and Bampa up in Alpharetta. It was a busy 24 hours. Of course we made it to the horse park, and then to McDonald's for dinner and an ice cream cone. We had a great time!

On Saturday, after being in her crib for about 5 minutes, Avery announced that she "woke up!" She would not take her afternoon nap. Grampa let Gramma and I run a few errands and bravely offered to take care of the peanut. After 2 hours of playing Avery finely fell asleep in his arms. He transferred her to the couch, where she took the remainder of her nap. That was a first! Her first nap on the couch! Thank goodness for Grampas!

I also had to post this cute picture of Avery and her friend Sarah. They have matching pony tails. Too cute!

Picnic at the Park

Friday, we had a picnic at a new park. It is just a few miles from our house and we have been meaning to visit. There were geese and ducks to feed. Slides and playground equiptment to play on, and best of all we had a picnic with our friends. It was a great day. Later that evening, our friend Carrie Beth had her second little baby girl. We are looking forward to meeting her. Avery can't wait to see Handley as a big sister. Congratulations Posner Family!!!

Avery and sweet Sarah playing together later that afternoon.

Easter 2009

Easter morning at the Atkinson's! Avery was excited. Her favorite part was still the candy!

Ammy and Bampa's house. More candy, baskets, toys, and bubbles. I think we all went a little overboard this year. It sure was fun!!!

My rice krispy eggs, yum!

Tricia and Kyle's new puppy Lucy. She is the sweetest little thing! Soon she will be bigger than the other pups! Congrats guys!

Easter Eve

We packed a lot of fun into today! Avery had her second egg hunt. This year she actually "got it." She enjoyed filling her basket full of colorful eggs. However, she wanted to open and eat the goodies from each one before finding the next one. This slowed us down a little, but she still had a blast. Avery loves candy. She also wants to open and eat it all on her own. Needless to say she has been extremely active tonight. I guess the cupcake didn't help! She frosted it herself. Avery wasn't wild about the Easter Bunny. She waved and blew him kisses, but didn't want to get too close. She constantly had an eye on where he was during the entire party.

After our sugar high, we decided to dye our Easter eggs. Avery LOVED making each one colorful! She got a little messy and it was well worth it!

Hopefully she will sleep well tonight! Then tomorrow we can celebrate Easter! Take a look at her Easter art projects. She is very proud of them!

Jumpin' Jellybeans

We are getting back into our routine at home. We are here to stay for about a month. It feels good to be getting things organized and cleaned up. I have felt so energetic this week that I have actually cooked every single night! Trevor is thrilled! On Tuesday night I even attempted to be crafty and turned my Rice Krispy treats into eggs. I made then into the shape of an egg, dipped them in chocolate, and then sprinkled sprinkles on top. If there are any left, I will add a picture later.

Yesterday, we went to an Easter playgroup in the neighborhood. My friend Mimi, had a great Easter Bunny painting activity for the kids to complete. We also had snacks, cookies, and juice. Of course, the kids got to play too! As you can see from the picture below. Avery LOVED their little trampoline! She was sweet enough to share with Handley for a minute too!

After playgroup, we came home to eat lunch with Dad. On our front porch was a package from Grammy and Grampa Atkinson. We debated about waiting to open it until Easter, but decided on right then and there! Avery was thrilled! She LOVED her Easter surprise. She got her very own Easter Basket filled with candy (her favorite), a new movie Madagascar, a kaleidoscope, and some little stuffed animals. I can't get her to put it down! I think she is ready for Easter. Now we have to practice for the egg hunt! Oh, I did hide some of her candy :) Thank you Grammy and Grampa! We miss you!!

I think today we will attempt a picnic at the park. The weather is beautiful! Have a great day!

Grammy and Grampa Atkinson

Thursday morning Trevor, Avery, and I boarded a plane bound for Daytona. When we stepped off the plane Grammy and Grampa were there to greet us. From there, it was four days of non-stop fun! Especially if you ask Avery! The only time she stopped playing was to sleep. We played with all of the toys she found in her very own cupboard. She even got some new play dough which amused her for hours. We went to the pool daily. She loved swimming. She would jump right in and wanted to do it on her "OWN" (one of her new words). She would scream under, under, and go underwater. She is like a fish. Except, she can't swim yet. I think it is time to sign up for another round of swim lessons. On Saturday, we went to the beach. She still wasn't crazy about the sand but warmed up eventually. She loved the ocean! Jumping waves was her favorite. While we were at the beach the stingrays were too. It was wild but schools of twenty or more swam by every 5 minutes. This made me very nervous, but no one else minded! I guess that really makes me a Mom!

Can you see the stingrays??
Grammy and Grampa Atkinson spoiled us silly! We enjoyed every moment and look forward to seeing them again in May. Avery keeps asking if we can go back to there house. I wish!!!
