Shining Sun, Outside Here We Come!

It seems like it rained all week so when the sunshine popped out this weekend we took full advantage!  We headed to the zoo on Saturday and had a blast.  The animals were out and the people were not.  Therefore, it seemed as if we had the place to ourselves.

Sunday, the sun was shining again and after a nice Cracker Barrel breakfast we headed to the lake with Ammy and Bampa.  It had been a while since we had been there but it was still as relaxing as ever.  We fished (even though the fish seemed to be hibernating) and enjoyed the fresh air.

Two words that best describe the past few days...perfect weekend!

Celebrating the Mommy to Be and Her Sweet Baby! Girl!

Today we had Auntie Tricia's baby shower.  It was so much fun to celebrate Tricia and get ready to welcome precious Ryann into the family.  Tricia was spoiled with great gifts and surrounded by great friends and family!  Thanks to Auntie Tally for opening her home for all of us to have a great party!  We love you Auntie Tricia!  You are going to be a wonderful Mama and Kyle is going to be the sweetest Daddy!

MLK Day, Last Weekend, and a little bit of this week

Ammy and Bampa came over for lunch on Monday and started got our week off to a great start.  The babes were glad to play!

Last weekend we spent Saturday night by the fire with appetizers and fancy drinks.  Avery had hot chocolate and Dylan had a kiddie cocktail.  They were so excited to enjoy the night cozy with the family!

Friday night Trevor and I got out for a fun date a restaurant in Atlanta called Imperial Fez.  It was Moroccan and a lot of fun.  We had to eat with our fingers, wear a towel on our left shoulder (as a napkin), and tried delicious foods from far away.  It feels so good to get out every now and then!

On to bath time and new toys for the big boy that wears undies!  Thanks Grammy and Grampa!

PJ day at school is always fun!  They served pancakes, sausage, and hot cocoa.  Avery's favorite!

What a fantastic week.  Only problem is...Trevor came home from a business trip to New Orleans sick!  He had to come home from work a couple hours early today to get into bed and he NEVER does that.  Keeping our fingers crossed it misses the rest of us!

Sledding

Uncle Scott found a hill for us to sled down.  It was a little muddy because the temperatures in Arizona had been pretty mild.  Despite the mud we still had fun in the snow!

Milestones

My little boy is 27 months and continues to change everyday!  Today was a big day for him and a difficult day for me.  Today my baby went to school for the first time.  Mother's Morning Out to be exact.  He was excited this morning and my belly hurt a little because I was nervous for him.

However, we went to his school (which is the same school that Avery is at) last Friday met his four teachers that will be in his classroom with 12 children around his age.  They seemed very nice and had a variety of toys that pleased Dylan. He also liked the idea of going out to recess.

Today was different because Dylan went by himself.  We pulled up to the door after dropping Avery off.  His teacher came to the door.  He was brave, until she unbuckled him and took him inside. It was then he was calling my name and crying.  I had to pull over and dry my eyes a bit but I know this is a good thing for both of us.  I just can't help but be sad that time has passed so quickly and my baby is getting so big.  He made it until pick up and the teacher said he did great.  He used the big boy potty, I did send him in a pull-up, and only cried for a few minutes.

I was so glad to hug him at pick up time!  I missed this sweet boy, but we did it!  Both of us!

Happy 2012!

Wow, we are off and running and hoping to establish some kind of routine in the very near future!  Avery started back to school on Tuesday.  Both kids started gymnastics Monday and I have been getting back to the gym for about two weeks.  All of these things are good!  And feel good, but our break was the best! We absolutely enjoyed all of our time off!  I still have a few more pictures to post from Arizona.  Then, I promise Trevor, I will break out my new camera and start a few new posts!

My little cowboy made it an entire day with no accidents (Jan 12, 2010)  and no pull-ups!  We were even out running errands for three hours!  Let the new year bring no diapers!!! Way to go Dylan!

A first...Dylan and I had a picnic in the back of my car one rainy day before we picked Avery up from school.  We watched the train and cars and trucks drive by!  He was as happy as could be and wants to go back and do it everyday!  What can I say a boy and things that go Vrooom= Heaven!

Gingerbread train building ended up a tad more complicated than I thought but it turned out adorable!  Auntie put Ave to bed and she loved it!  Finally, a few pics of the kids with their sparklers on New Year's Eve!  Happy New Year!

The Polar Express

Last year we were all set to board the Polar Express in Northern Pheonix but the snow and winter weather cancelled the train, closed the highways, and ruined our trip.  This year,  our trip was a go!  We drove up to Williams, Arizona. Enjoyed a great resort, and a super fun polar express train ride!  We drank hot cocoa, ate cookies, and got to see Santa!  Santa gave us a super cool bell and we got to see the North Pole during our train ride!  We also were able to sing many carols on our way back to the platform.  It was a magical night for sure!  Thanks Grammy and Grampa for taking all of us on this magical adventure we will NEVER forget!
