Our Little Girl Turns Two!

I cannot believe how fast the last two years have flown by! Our baby girl turned two on Saturday and she has changed so much in such a short time. She is talking in sentences, running around, playing games, and cracking us up.
Auntie Lyn-Ann came into town on Friday to start the birthday festivities. We didn't stop until bedtime Sunday night. Avery still has a few presents to open. She was spoiled silly.
Saturday was the big birthday bash at the pool. So many of Avery's friends were able to come help us celebrate. Avery only got out of the pool long enough to eat (and eat she did). She was all smiles and we could barely get her home.

Sunday we made our trip up to Wills Park to show Aunt Lyn-Ann the horses. Then, Daddy, Mommy, and L.A. made a quick trip to the outlet mall while Avery played with Grammy and Grampa. Then, after nap time we were all set for round two of the parties. Party with the Trussell's. Avery got more gifts, good food, and ice cream cake.

It was a fabulous weekend. Thank goodness birthdays come just once a year. We will all be recovering this week. Thanks to everyone that helped make her day so special.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

We had a fun weekend anyway!Happy Memorial Day! Just wanted to take a minute to upload a few more pictures. We snuck out for a couple hours and went to a baseball game at Wesleyan. It was nice to be outside even though we had a rain delay in the 4th inning. Once the rain cleared we decided to head to CPK to grab a pizza. It was a nice way to end a great weekend!

It's a BOY!!!!

Avery anxiously awaiting the BIG NEWS:

This morning we went to Babies First Images to see our little peanut. It was the big day....is Avery having a brother or a sister? And.....it's a BOY!!!! We are thrilled. We can't imagine what it will be like to have a little boy, but we can hardly wait to find out!

Time to start planning! We need to decide upon a name, a nursery theme, and incorporate a little blue into the house. We are still all smiles and look forward to meeting our little guy at the end of October!

Here are a few belly shots (embarrassing, but I did post a picture of Avery on the potty so I figured why not embarrass myself too):

Of course, we had to go look at horses after the ultrasound so here are a few highlights of Avery's fun at Wills Park:

Kangazoom!

Friday night Daddy had a great idea...to play at Kangazoom for an hour before dinner. Avery was thrilled! She went last week with Grammy and couldn't wait to get back to jump! We started out in the bounce houses and she was all smiles. From there she spotted the big slide. Trevor was going to take her up, but she was too fast. She climbed half way up the big stairs before he could get on. She was so proud that she did it "Avery's own!" She didn't even hesitate before she slid down, she is fearless! We had a great time playing and then a delicious Mexican dinner. Avery has got her appetite back!

Bug Watching!

Lately Avery has been fascinated by bugs. She tells her Daddy to "get em" whenever one gets into our house. She also likes Daddy to get all of the ants outside. Tonight we found a ladybug crawling on our patio. Observing the ladybug kept Avery busy for a long time. Of course she wanted to know if it bites. After a while she worked up enough courage to let it crawl on her leg. She was so excited!! We are enjoying the outdoors in the evenings and the weather has been gorgeous.

I had to post this cute picture of Avery loving on Riley too! They are cute together. Most of the time she is nice ;)

Last night Avery had a birthday party with her baby dolls. While Trevor and I were cleaning up after dinner she got into the cupboard and got out all of the cupcake tins. Before we knew it they were spread all over the living room floor. She was singing "Happy Birthday" and they were all having a party. It was adorable!

Also, we are working on getting Avery potty trained. I don't know how long it will take, but she did a great job this morning!

Fieldtrip to the Atlanta Zoo with our Girlfriends

Just a short time after we touched down in Georgia, Avery and I were off again. This time to the Atlanta Zoo with a bunch of girlfriends. We are lucky to have a such a fun and adventurous group of girls in the neighborhood. We packed up this morning and had a great day looking at all of the animals.

The lions caught and held the girls attention!

This was Avery's second trip to the zoo and she was definitely braver! She wanted to pet all of the animals! (Only after asking if the "bite" of course!) She was able to pet some goats, pigs, and sheep in the kids petting zoo. We also took a train ride, and rode on the carousal. Avery enjoyed a picnic lunch and lots of laughs with her friends. It was the perfect day!

Avery took the rain ride very serious!

Washing our hands after the petting zoo. This hand dryer was almost as much fun as petting the animals. They loved the warm air!

Neighborhood Block Party!

A few weeks ago we had a fabulous evening with our wonderful neighbors. We had a cookout and all the kids played in the street. I had to post a few pictures from the fun event. We have a few more planned over the summer, should be fun!

Vacation

It has been a while, but things have not slowed down a bit! This past week Trevor and I enjoyed our first husband and wife trip in two years. We went to St. Martin for the week and were able to rest and relax. I won't lie and tell you it was easy right off the bat. We had to remember how to eat slow, relax, and enjoy quite time. However, it didn't take long and we ended up really having a great time. We had delicous food, and enjoyed all of the beautiful beaches. I think we are both the tannest we have ever been. We also read lots of books. It was a fabulous get away, and coming home was just as sweet. We missed our baby girl and were thrilled to be able to hug and kiss her today. Avery on the other hand, was glad to see us, but did just fine with her Grandparents and Auntie Tally.

Our trip wouldn't have been possible without Grammy Tina and Grampa Bruce, Grammy Tracee and Bampa, and Tally. They worked in shifts and made sure Avery had a blast and didn't miss us for one second. Avery went to Kangazoom with Grammy. It sounds like the had a ton of fun bouncing around. They also played non-stop. Thanks to Grampa we have shiny clean cars :) Grammy Tracee and Bampa did the next shift. Avery was quite busy at their house even thoug Grammy ended up with the flu. Thanks Dad for taking the day off to take care of Avery. I know she loved every second of being the center of your world! Then Tally finished the week up on Saturday. They made a stop at ChickFila for lunch, threw rocks in the creek, and ate a yummy dinner together. She is still talking about her time with all of you, THANK YOU!!!! It feels so good to know she is in such good hands!

A special thanks to Kyle too for our late night ride home! You are so sweet!
